Denmark’s largest fitness chain, fitness dk, has teamed up with preventative healthcare supplier Falck.

The new partnership has been formed to offer inter-disciplinary treatments, exercise and rehabilitation services to companies focused on boosting the health and motivation of their employees.

Falck Healthcare employs more than 450 chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists and has 58 health centres in Denmark.

In addition, it works with around 80 Danish companies with their own health clinics to help prevent stress, weight problems and lifestyle-related diseases among staff.

“One of the most important methods of prevention is exercise and physical training, so co-operation with fitness dk is an obvious choice for us,” says Kent Jensen, head of Falck Healthcare.

Fitness dk CEO Rasmus Ingerslev adds: “It is an easy-to-implement, financially attractive solution that offers companies an exceptionally good opportunity to get healthy and motivated employees. And, ultimately, that can be measured on the bottom line.”

Fitness dk has more than 85,000 members across 30 fitness centres.

On the day of the announcement of the partnership, which came into effect at the start of the month, shares in fitness dk’s parent company, Parken Sport & Entertainment, rose by 7 per cent.
