The Zoya project represents an important step towards Premedion's strategic focus on the Arabian market
– Yasser Moshref

In August 2021, an authentic Middle Eastern retreat named Zoya Wellbeing & Health Resort Zoya at Al Zorah will open in Ajman, UAE, developed and operated by Premedion; an international spa consultancy and management company with expertise in wellbeing, fitness and health.

The five-star spa and holistic wellness destination will be dedicated to intensive holistic wellbeing retreats and packages and nestled in a naturally protected zone surrounded by wildlife, beaches and lush mangrove forests.

The 61-key facility will form part of the Al Zorah mixed-use hospitality development – co-developed by the Government of Ajman and Lebanese developer Solidere International. The development will also be home to both a Lux* Resort and an Oberoi Beach Resort.

Zoya will harness medicine and holistic wellness to create customised wellbeing journeys with a specific focus on detoxing, therapeutic fasting, prevention, aesthetics and anti-ageing and physical rehabilitation.

Packages will all include a minimum five-night stay and blend wellness treatments, physiotherapy, aesthetic medicine, diagnostic testing and exercise to help guests boost vitality and vigour.

Each guest will be treated as an individual and begin their journey with a medical consultation, diagnostics testing and wellness assessment. This will then inform each guests’ bespoke nutrition plan and personalised weekly programme, alongside their aftercare programme for at-home us.

“Zoya Wellbeing is being designed to create a unique destination that protects, nourishes and invigorates the mind, body and soul,” explained Dr Yasser Moshref, Premedion CEO.

“It was born of a determination to address the ailments of the modern world, to be preventative rather than curative and to provide support to live without the need for medication and assistance.”

Zoya will be anchored by an integrative wellness facility complete with 45 treatment rooms comprising an integrative medicine clinic, aesthetic and anti-ageing centre, chronic disease management and diagnostics services, physiotherapy and a medi-spa.

This will be complemented by two separate-sex spas, a mixed-sex spa, beauty services, fitness facilities, yoga and meditation spaces, a library and lecture room and a vegan restaurant and juice bar.

Thermal facilities will include a hammam, steam sauna, infrared sauna, Finnish saunas and warm and cold therapy pools, alongside whirl tubs, medical bath, Kneipp pathways and experience and Vichy Showers.

The luxury spa will offer traditional healing therapies supplied by Biologique Recherche and Voya.

Premedion has also chosen to work with Gharieni, Proxomed, Weyergans, Trautwein and

Narvi to source equipment for the spa.

Fitness also forms a key pillar of Zoya, meaning guests will be offered access to a medical gym, aqua gym, boot camp sessions, PT services and a selection of up to 60 weekly fitness classes including cycling, water sports and golf.

Moshref said the destination’s target audience will be GCC domestic tourists and he anticipates the pandemic will have helped drive demand for local wellness solutions due to growing awareness of the importance of wellbeing and immunity.

“This means the pandemic provides an opportunity for Zoya,” he said, “because our facility provides the perfect environment for wellness seekers looking for healing journeys.

“Moreover, this kind of concept is unique in the UAE and this in itself is a USP.”

Moshref revealed to Spa Business that the Zoya concept is being expanded to encompass another facility in Dubai, called Zoya Sport City, with construction expected to begin in October.

"Overall, the Zoya project is an important and successful step for Premedion towards a strategic focus on the Arabian market", he explained.

"The Arabian health and spa market will continue to be an important and growing market for us in the future, in addition to the German-speaking market.”
