Pleasurewood Hills to open new thrill ride for summer
Work on a new white-knuckle roller coaster has begun at Pleasurewood Hills theme park near Lowestoft in Suffolk, UK.
The ride, called Wipeout, will stand over 116ft tall and is 900ft long. It will have a capacity of 760 passengers per hour and will reach speeds of around 50mph.
Wipeout is part of Pleasurewood Hills’ redevelopment programme, launched by French company Compagnie des Alpes when it took over the park two years ago.
Yves Delhommeau, general manager of Pleasurewood Hills, said: “Since purchasing the park we’ve invested more than £3m improving the quality of the facilities and developing the new maritime theme for our visitors to enjoy.
“Wipeout will be the first substantial new ride we’ve added and it is part of an ambitious long-term development plan to bring some exciting new rides and attractions to Pleasurewood Hills.”
