The padel craze continues with the launch of a new club at Champneys Mottram Hall in Cheshire and a pop-up at London’s Marble Arch.

Developed by The Padel Group, The Hook Club at Champneys Mottram Hall, is a £400,000, three-court padel venue with installation by Padelgest, supported by a clubhouse for pre- and post-match socialising and a heated patio area in the landscaped grounds.

The venue is open to anyone and bookable via the Playtomic app. Coaching is offered via a new academy.

The Padel Group director, Morgan Davies, says: “Our primary aim was to create a padel club that offers an unmatched player experience. We've invested a significant amount in this project to ensure The Hook Club stands out on the UK padel scene. Padel is a sport that’s here to stay and we've created a fantastic environment for players of all abilities to play padel and socialise.”

Meanwhile in London, Pop-up Padel at Marble Arch has launched and will stay in-situ until 26 August. Marble Arch London Business Improvement District (BID) is partnering with Portman Marylebone, part of the Portman Estate, to offer the court, which can be hired seven days-a-week in one hour time slots.

Aimed at promoting an active lifestyle and encouraging Londoners to try padel, the partners also want to showcase the inclusive nature of this fun and fast growing sport, which is sociable and easy to pick up.

Kay Buxton, chief executive, Marble Arch London BID, says: “We're delighted to launch Pop-up Padel at Marble Arch and provide a wonderful space for people to try out this great new sport. With sponsors Portman Marylebone and partners Central London Alliance we've been able to bring padel to the West End of London for the first time and make it accessible to the community with special discounts and sessions for local residents and youth groups.”
