Omni Fight Club has become the latest US-based fitness franchise to enter the UK with plans to carve out a share of the market.

The cardio kickboxing experience, which operates under the slogan ‘Fun Tough Fitness’, has appointed property specialist Savills to seek its first UK sites as part of the brand’s expansion into Europe.

The first Omni-branded club opened in Georgia, US in 2005 and the company has since expanded rapidly across the US through a franchise model.

Omni Fight Club has now secured master franchisees for the UK, Ireland, Spain and Portugal, enabling the brand’s European roll out.

In the UK, it is seeking sites of between 2,600sq ft and 5,400 sq ft (242sq m and 502sq m) in size, located in areas with high population or high employment density.

Sean Phillips, CEO of Omni Fight Club Europe, said: "We’re all about engaging with and giving back to the local communities we are lucky enough to serve.

"We are redefining the member experience by creating an atmosphere where people feel successful from their first class and seasoned exercisers continue to advance their fitness through amazing full body workouts, supported by cutting edge technology solutions.

“We will continue to grow our signature Heroes programme, through which we celebrate and reward veterans and active military personnel, first responders and the unsung heroes of the nursing and teaching professions along with their families."

The announcement comes just a week after rival franchise chain UFG Gym revealed plans to open 100 clubs in the UK and Ireland.

Earlier this year, another US franchised chain, Orangetheory, signed a master franchise deal for 40 new studios in the north of England.

Other US-based chains to have revealed plans for UK expansion include Anytime Fitness, Snap Fitness and premium operator Equinox.
