October opening date for Legoland Florida
Legoland Florida, a new 150-acre (60.7-hectare) theme park being created at Winter Haven, US, has announced that it will be opening its doors to the public on 15 October.
The attraction - part of the Merlin Entertainments Group portfolio - will be the fourth Legoland-branded park of its kind in the world and will comprise a number of themed zones. More than 50 rides, shows and other features are to be on offer, including the driving school in City; the Factory Tour in Fun Town; and an indoor/outdoor rollercoaster in Castle Hill.
The park has also launched its new online reservation service to make the booking process easier, which will enable visitors to arrange tickets, accommodation, airlines and car hire. Legoland Florida sales manager Todd Andrus said: "Planning a family vacation can be daunting, especially for families with very young children.
"That's why we designed our online system to be both user-friendly and convenient, allowing parents to book the essentials and then print out everything they'll need right at home." Image: LEGOLAND(r) Florida
