Nottingham City Council and PTC pair up to promote local fitness
Nottingham City Council and Nottingham City Primary Care Trust (PCT) have given away 2,000 three-month fitness memberships to local residents.
The passes went on offer at the beginning of the month and included three-month memberships for the council’s Flexible Fitness scheme, free swimming and free one-day fitness passes.
The memberships, which have all been taken up, were available to people in selected areas, specifically neighbourhoods where health is poorer.
Dave Trimble, portfolio holder for communities, leisure and culture at the council, said: “We’re delighted that our joint venture with the PCT has been so well received by residents. It’s a great sign that they’re keen to get fit and want to work out in their local leisure centre.”
