Northolt Leisure Centre set for opening
Ealing Council has announced that a new multi-million pound leisure complex in Northolt, London, which will replace the town's former Swimarama facility, is set to open on 30 January.
Construction work on the new 5,500sq m (59,202 sq ft) Northolt Leisure Centre in Eastcote Lane North, which was designed by S&P Architects, started in October 2008, a year after the closure of the Swimarama Facilities will include a 600sq m (6,458sq ft) fitness suite containing 125 stations of Pulse Fitness equipment and a free weights area, as well as a eight-lane, 25m swimming pool and learner pool and a dance studio.
A two-court community hall, which can be used for badminton, table tennis, short mat bowls and martial arts, as well as conferences and meetings, also forms part of Northolt Leisure Centre, along with a café and a library. Ealing Council leader Jason Stacey said: "I am sure residents will be as impressed as I am with the transformation that has taken place. Northolt Leisure Centre certainly lives up to expectation."
