New £50,000 natural play area for Coventry
Work on the creation of a new £50,000 natural play area at Coventry Sports Foundation's (CSF) Xcel Leisure Centre has been completed.
Designed to improve children's agility and climbing skills, the project has been funded through Coventry City Council's Playbuilder scheme and includes swings, monkey bars and a zip wire. The completion of work at Xcel Leisure Centre comes a month after a new £50,000 purpose-built BMX facility was unveiled at Alan Higgs Centre - another CSF venue.
Raffy Tentindo of The Living Environment Trust, which carries out environmental management for CSF, said: "[The new area] provides a great environment for young people to play and develop their climbing and agility. "It is also an area we can use as an outdoor classroom to help develop children's understanding of the natural environment."
