New £3m spa facility opens at Cornwall's Watergate Bay Hotel
Cornwall's Watergate Bay Hotel has unveiled a new spa following the completion of a £3m project to create "active relaxation spaces" and a 25m infinity swimming pool.
The new space boasts three treatment rooms; a manicure and pedicure room overlooking the Atlantic Ocean; a fitness room with cardiovascular machines: and a café bar.
A traditional Canadian hot tub; a timber boardwalk direct to the beach; poolside terraces; and a new hotel entrance are among exterior improvements that also formed part of the scheme.
Independent design consulting firm Household was responsible for leading the design of the development, having been appointed by hotel managing director Will Ashworth.
Ashworth said: "Our brief was to combine all the elements that make Watergate Bay so special - the beach, the sea and the beach sports.
"This is active, social relaxation in a truly inspiring location; creating 'beach-house comfort' with lots of light, open spaces, complemented by rich textures and colours."
Household creative director Sarah Page added: "You're taken on a journey to discover what fits your mood, whether that's hideaways, social hubs, lookouts, foodie treats, feet-up, snooze spots or sun-spots."
