New paint job for Haddo's Canadian Hall
The Canadian Hall at the National Trust for Scotland's Haddo House near Ellon is being repainted, after becoming a Category B listed building earlier in the year.
The Concert Hall, which is situated next to the Aberdeenshire house, will be returned to the condition in which it appeared in 1891 when it was built under the order of the first Marquess of Aberdeen. The work is scheduled to be completed at the end of May. Senior assistant Christina Wright said: "The Concert Hall is already looking better as it begins to emerge from its scaffolding, ready to welcome performers and audiences once more.
"I'm sure the people who use the hall will get a lot out of its repainting, which restores it to the status a listed building deserves." The hall will host a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream on 12 June.
