Member retention product supplier, Gymini, has introduced two Target Trackers reports aimed at helping club operators win the Retention Challenge.

Developed with input from the FIA and Melvyn Hillsdon, author of the FIA's Winning the Retention Battle series, the reports - The New Member Retention report and Member Rewards Programme are aimed at helping operators to implement their retention programmes based on their recommendations for best practice.

Gymini says The New Member Retention report enables operators to track new members throughout their first 12 weeks of membership and beyond. The report helps management to identify new members who fall into the 'high dropout risk' category and take action to encourage increased participation.

The report is built around the FIA's finding that the first 12 weeks of membership are critical to establishing a member's attendance pattern and therefore present the best opportunity for intervention. The company says by helping operators to easily identify members who fail to achieve the critical visit level of one visit per week over the first 12 weeks of membership, the club is able to target members accordingly.

Gymini's Member Rewards Programme has been developed to help operators encourage members to maintain regular participation. 'By simply setting appropriate reward levels, members accumulate Gymini Points every time they work out.' As members approach their next target level, Gymini says it automatically provides encouragement to ensure they go on to complete their next few workouts. On achieving their target number of workouts, Gymini will then congratulate members at the kiosk with a personalised message and tell them how to claim their reward.

Nigel Wallace, executive director of FIA, said: 'Retention is a key element in a club's success, it is important in today's competitive environment and it will be critical in the future. Given this situation, it is a current necessity for operators to be implementing systems that will assist in maximising their retention potential.' Details: email: [email protected]
