New farm shop and café at the safari lodge
Perthshire-based Highland Adventure Safaris have introduced Special Spring Safaris for the new season.
Early mornings, just as dawn breaks, is a great time to be out and about listening and watching for birds and wildlife.
Experience the wonder of a rural dawn chorus in secluded glens and moors or catch a glimpse of shy roe deer emerging from the mist. The Dawn Patrol Land Rover safari offers trips to secluded glens and moors to see which birds and animals are out and about before the world wakes up.
May and June are ideal times for badger watching because the cubs, born in February, are beginning to be more active. An evening Badger Watch Safari has been introduced for those with the patience to watch for these animals.
In other developments, The Scottish Farm Shop – Food for Thought, opened on 24 March at The Safari Lodge in Aberfeldy, Perthshire.
Visitors will soon be able to take home and enjoy the freshest of locally grown fruit and vegetables, carefully selected gourmet products from Scotland, together with a wide range of international delicacies and store cupboard essentials.
The new venture has been masterminded by Alec Cruickshank, proprietor of the popular delicatessen in Pitlochry, Food for Thought.
Alec comments that he hopes the new Farm Shop and Café “will inspire people to buy and eat good quality, locally and sustainably produced food”.
“All the dishes and snacks in the Café will be based on produce that visitors can buy in the Farm Shop,” he said. Details: www.highlandadventuresafaris.co.uk
