New boutique hotel opens in University of Sheffield halls of residence
A former University of Sheffield hall of residence has been transformed into a boutique conference hotel following a £1.8m refurbishment by UNICUS – a subsidiary of the University of Sheffield.
Located in the University’s Enddliffe Village, the new Halifax Hall Hotel occupies a historic venue that was built in the 1830s as a steel baron’s mansion. The hotel features 38 guestrooms and has capacity for meetings and events for up to 120 delegates.
Paul Foster, general manager of Halifax Hall Hotel, said: “While we are very close to the city, the quiet, green location of the former Victorian mansion lends itself to a peaceful stay and we wanted to build on this to give our guests a great night’s sleep in preparation for any event.”
As part of its strategy to boost local businesses, Halifax Hall Hotel has partnered with a number of South Yorkshire Companies and suppliers.
