Mark Jones has been appointed as operations director of the Eden project, in a move to help the Millennium Commission funded project become one of the best destinations in the world.

With a background in hotel and operation management, involving 13 years of running hotels in Africa as well as managing three large Center Parcs sites, Jones' main objective is to create a memorable visitor experience that reinforces the quality of the project. Among his aims is to create a food offer that integrates plant exhibits, which will reinforce Eden's message about the special relationship between plants and people and tell the story behind food sources.

Meeting Mark was like finding the missing piece of the jigsaw for the Eden Team, said managing director, Gaynor Coley. He will be the driving force in helping Eden become one of the best destinations in the world.
