New app WatchFit offers health secrets of Hollywood stars
A new health and fitness app launched today promises to gives users an insight into the extreme diets and workouts of Hollywood stars like Angelina Jolie, Christian Bale and Gerard Butler.
WatchFit is a free lifestyle app which enables users to subscribe to wellbeing programmes designed by fitness trainers from around the world – covering workouts and diet plans.
User log their eating habits and activity levels, so trainers, conditioning experts and sports coaches are able to keep tabs on clients and ensure they are following a prescribed plan.
The app also features trackers – to be compatible with Apples' latest M7 motion sensing technology – and articles from a range of fitness experts, covering wellness advice as well as step-by-step guides to emulating the regimes of famous Hollywood stars.
Users can subscribe to the wellbeing programmes and compare progress with others signed-up around the world. As is the current trend with fitness apps, users earn points for the extent to which they follow the programme, adding a competitive element to proceedings.
"This creates a sense of community and competition and can bring an element of game-like fun as well as additional motivation,” said WatchFit founder Parisa Louie.
There is also the facility to upload pictures of meals to communities, with this earning extra points if the meal is accurate to the plan.
