New UK hotel guide book to launch in October
A new British-based hotel guide, called Mr & Mrs Smith, will be published by Spy Publishing in October 2003.
Partners Tamara Heber-Percy and James Lohan have gathered together a panel of reviewers to give the kind of advice you’d expect to hear from a good friend on a variety of hotels in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. The guide is expected to fill in the essential ‘little details’ gaps left by the current guidebook competition and be "glossier than Hip Hotels".
The team of reviewers includes Sunday Times Style editor Tiffanie Dark, editor of Wallpaper, Jeremy Langmead, chef Raymond Blanc, dance music group Basement Jaxx’s Felix Buxton and fashion designer Tracey Boyd.
The guide will also incorporate a unique membership scheme. Each book comes with a membership card that can be activated online and allow members to receive upgrades, restaurant and room discounts.
The publishers of Mr & Mrs Smith, Spy Publishing, intend to create a number of other new travel and guide titles. Current ideas include a worldwide city breaks collection alongside a Mr & Mrs Smith Europe guide. Details: [email protected]
