New Sharjah hotel to celebrate its Arabian heritage

Asia-based General hotel Management (GHM) has announced the opening date for its new Sharjah hotel, Al Bait Sharjah, as 1 September 2018.
The hotel, which was developed in partnership with Sharjah investment and development authority Shurooq, is marketing its offering as a “refined level of luxury, sophistication and personalised service never experienced before in the Emirate”.
In homage to traditional Sharjah architecture, Al Bait Sharjah’s foundations are set into the site where “vintage homes that once belonged to noted Emirati families stood”.
Indeed, “Al Bait” literally translates as “the home”, which the hotel said is in reference to this placement.
Patrick Moukarzel, the resort’s general manager said: “GHM has taken the lead in pioneering luxury hospitality in the Emirate, while connecting the modern traveller to Sharjah’s rich storied past.
“We eagerly look forward to welcoming guests to Al Bait for an experience comparable to no other.”
More architectural and design details on Al Bait Sharjah are to be released in the near future. A spokesperson told CLADglobal that the hotel houses a circular wind tower, like those found in traditional Middle Eastern architecture, for natural ventilation.
