National School Sport Week commences
Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week - a nationwide initiative delivered in partnership delivered in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust (YST) - has got underway.
Nearly 5 million schoolchildren are expected to participate in this year's event, which uses the inspiration of the London 2012 Games to inspire children to do more physical activity. Olympic and Paralympic stars such as Sir Chris Hoy; Jonathan Edwards and Ade Adepitan will visit schools and sports venues across the country as part of the week.
YST chief executive Baroness Sue Campbell said: "Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate all that is great about sport and a chance to inspire our young people to take part. Having the Olympians and Paralympians visiting schools are sharing their experiences of sport brings that extra bit of magic to the week which I am extremely excited and proud to be part of."
Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week runs between 27 June and 1 July.
