Museum of London eyes development role
A Museums Association (MA) members' meeting has learned how the Museum of London (MoL) has bid for funding to run the capital's development officer network.
It was one of the topics discussed at the event, along with the MoL's application for support through the Renaissance major grants programme from Arts Council England (ACE).
London Museums Group chair Judy Lindsay told the meeting that a successful funding bid would mean development programmes in the capital "will continue".
Lindsay also said London's museums industry should increase its partnership working and join forces on areas such as promotion, lobbying and advocacy.
Other speakers at the MA members' meeting included London Transport Museum director Sam Mullins and ACE relationship manager for the visual arts in London, Peter Heslip.
Heslip outlined details of funding now available for museums and galleries, while Mullins examined how museums could benefit from next year's London Games.
