Molly Kemmer elected chair of IHRSA board
IHRSA has announced that Molly Kemmer will become the new IHRSA board chair as of 1 July, 2015, replacing the outgoing Robert Brewster who will have served a full-year term.
Kemmer – who is the regional manager for MediFit Corporate Services/EXOS in Littleton, Colorado, USA – was confirmed as the incoming chair at the recent IHRSA 2015 event in Los Angeles.
Kemmer’s commitment to health and wellness took root while she was attending college at Northern Illinois University. At 18, she became a certified group exercise instructor and taught classes at a local health club, as well as for the university. By graduation, she had also earned her personal trainer certification. Next, she received her Master of Science degree in exercise physiology and health promotion from Illinois State University.
Over the ensuing decade, she worked her way through the ranks from an assistant manager of a small health club to positions of increasing responsibility at well-known IHRSA-member facilities. These included the Greenwood Athletic Club, Pura Vida Fitness and Spa, the Lakeshore Athletic Club and the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center – a science-focused health and wellness facility managed by MediFit.
