Minister meets 20,000th member of REPs
Minister for sport and tourism, Richard Caborn has praised the work the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) is doing and called increased industry support for it a “win-win situation for everyone”.
Speaking at the Central YMCA club in London, he also presented the REPs’ 20,000th member, Helen Sapuoskova, with a special registration certificate.
Helen, who is originally from the Czech Republic, has successfully achieved qualifications leading to the YMCA Personal Trainer Award.
Caborn also officially opened a new reception area, an active pilates studio and a cardio zone as part of a £500,000 development programme at the Great Russell Street complex.
Also present at the ceremony were Central YMCA chief executive Rosi Prescott, REPs registrar Cliff Collins and REPs chair John Greenway MP.
