Meliá to open Paradisus resort in Cancun in December
Meliá Hotels International is set to open a luxury resort in Cancun, Mexico in December, after transforming the Gran Melia Cancun into a Paradisus-branded resort.
Located 20 minutes from downtown Cancun, the resort features 678 suites, which include 137 Royal Service Suites, and 97 Family Concierge Suites.
The resort's Yhi spa will feature indoor and outdoor treatment rooms offering aromatheraphy, biomassages, radiance scrubs, and wraps and masks. Hydrotheraphy aromatic baths as well as whirlpools, saunas and steamrooms will also feature.
The Yhi Wellness centre will comprise a fitness area offering spinning, yoga and Tai Chi lessons, while YHI Moves offers fitness, personal training and wellness activities.
Six restaurants and five bars are on offer including Tempo by Martin Berasategui by Michelin Star chef Martin Berasategui, who partnered with Paradisus in 2011 to open his signature restaurants at the brand’s properties.
The resort will also feature a nine-hole par-three golf course and four swimming pools with swim-up bars.
Other facilities include more than 10,000sq ft (929sq m) of meeting and conventions space.
