Mass Effect 4D experience coming to California's Great Adventure
California's Great America in Santa Clara is teaming up with Electronic Arts (EA) to bring a first-of-its-kind 4D holographic experience based on the popular Mass Effect videogame series.
Coming to the park’s newly renovated Action Theater, riders will be taken on a 3D adventure, curated by a live performer acting with the on-screen visuals. Using motion seating, sound technology and other 4D experiences, the immersive attraction will send guests through space to a distant planet, where they will face off against Mass Effect’s signature adversaries and “ultimately help save the day”.
The attraction is due to open in 2016 – the same year that game developer BioWare is expected to release the next instalment in the videogame series.
"EA and BioWare are thrilled to partner with Great America and see one of our most iconic games turned into an exciting high-tech attraction," said Patrick O'Brien, vice president of Entertainment and Licensing, EA.
"Having a partner who shares our commitment to thrilling our fans is extremely important to us and we look forward to building an attraction that will appeal to the Mass Effect fan-base and introduce it to many more."
