MCC announces £2m investment for Lord's
Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has announced plans to enhance infrastructure at Lord's Cricket Ground, London as part of a £2m investment programme planned for 2012.
A full external refurbishment of the JP Morgan Media Centre at the historic ground will be the first work carried out, which is the structure's first upgrade since opening in 1999.
The five-stage revamp will include corrosion repairs and repainting and will be complete by 12 April. Meanwhile, improved personal address systems are planned for three stands.
MCC head of cricket and estates John Stephenson said: "MCC is determined to maintain the reputation of Lord's as the best cricket ground in the world for players, members and spectators.
"The spring clean of the J.P. Morgan Media Centre this month represents the most recent phase in the club's ongoing commitment to ensure that Lord's remains world-class, as well as world-famous."
