Lottery bid for Todmorden Town Hall plans
Plans to establish a new heritage centre as part of a refurbished Todmorden Town Hall in West Yorkshire could receive a boost from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
Todmorden Town Hall Development Group – the local organisation behind the scheme – has lodged a bid for stage one development support worth £360,000. The stage one funding would enable the group to carry out necessary detailed design/planning work, which could take 15 months ahead of the submission of a stage two bid to the HLF.
In addition to an extensive refurbishment of the property and the new heritage centre, plans also include improvements to access and new customer facilities. Under the plans, the new heritage centre would explore the history of the town hall and the town, as well as surrounding areas. It will feature audio visual material and exhibition space.
