Lifetime unveils 3D training aid
Lifetime, the fitness training organisation, has unveiled its a new 3D projection system, designed to enhance learning potential.
The new system will use specially developed computer software to help students learn about anatomy and physiology through 3D images. Special glasses are required to use the equipment, which helps to create the 3D image and enables students to fully explore physiological systems such as the heart and lungs through interactive rotation and zoom tools.
Pravin Jethwa, the product's designer, said: "It allows students to interact, inspect and dissect the heart, lungs and other organs, providing visual representations of how they all work." Chris Payne, Lifetime's head of open courses, said: "The 3D-projection system is a fantastic investment and complements our other invaluable resources that our students use to help them maximise their learning potential.
"Since using the 3D system in practical lessons, the number of level 3 students passing their exams has risen from 74 to 88 per cent." Lifetime also hopes that the projection system will be able to be adapted for the purpose of sports movement analysis in the future.
