Leisure trust invests in Scottish leisure centres
Borders Sport & Leisure (BSL) is investing more than £150,000 in the refurbishment of gym facilities at three of its leisure centres.
Each facility - Teviotdale Leisure Centre in Hawick, Gytes Leisure Centre in Peebles and Eyemouth Leisure Centre - will receive a wide range of new equipment as part of plans to provide a more interactive exercise experience.
The kit chosen for the gyms includes cv training machines such as recumbent and upright cycles, treadmills, rowing machines, exercise bikes and elliptical cross trainers.
Each machine features a TV monitor, is ipod compatible and can be linked to the free Life Fitness Virtual Trainer Application which can be used by individuals to customise a workout before going to the gym and to monitor progress.
The facilities will also be fully equipped with a range of Life Fitness resistance apparatus such as the multi-press, hip abductor, cable column, leg curl/extension, tricep extension and pec fly machines that help with strength and muscle development.
BSL currently operates 10 centres on behalf of local authorities.
