Leisure sector prepares for LIW
The leisure industry is again preparing for the largest UK-based trade show, the Leisure Industry Week, which will be held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham next week (22-24 September 2008).
A total of 400 exhibitors will be present at this year's show and organisers are expecting that the three-day event will attract more than 13,000 visitors.
Keynote speakers at this year's show include a range of former Olympians (Roger Black, Karen Pickering, Tessa Sanderson) and former England and Arsenal star Ian Wright.
This year's programme of seminars benefits from the show hosting the National Sports Conference, which will form a part of the inaugural Sports Development Week.
Meanwhile, the Attractions Industry Forum will host a number of keynote sessions evaluating the sector, including the "Interactive Attractions" seminar hosted by Kevin Williams, founder of KWP; Terry Monkton, managing director of Simworx and Ben Smith, director of Red Star Studios.
