A number of individuals from across the UK leisure industry - including the sport, heritage and arts sectors - have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2012.
Among those to be awarded a CBE is Paul Elliott, the former Chelsea footballer and already an MBE, for his work as trustee for equality and diversity campaign Kick It Out.
Kick It Out chair Lord Herman Ouseley said: "This is just and deserved recognition for an individual who has given so much to tackling discrimination in football."
UK Sport special adviser Peter Keen; Royal Shakespeare Company executive director Vikki Heywood; and National Museum Scotland director Dr Gordon Rintoul also received CBEs.
Dr Rintoul said: "I see this honour as recognition of the achievements of all the staff here at National Museums Scotland."
• Recipients of OBEs included Turner Contemporary director Victoria Pomery; Sport and Recreation Alliance chair Andy Reed; Professional Golfers' Association chair Phil Weaver; and Olympic Delivery Authority head of design and regeneration Jerome Frost.
• A number of professional sports players were awarded the MBE - including Luke Donald (golf); Shane Williams (rugby union); and David James (football).
Elsewhere, there were MBEs for Firmdale Hotels managing director Tim Kemp and Michelle and Kerry Michael - the pair behind the extensive restoration of Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier.
Other recipients of the MBE include Kenneth Woolcott, creator of Popmobility - the fitness concept launched in 1967 combining aerobics in a dance routine performed to music.
