Leisure and retail destination for Hull
Developer, London & Amsterdam, is planning a 500,000sq ft retail and leisure destination called St Stephen's for the heart of Hull.
The development will see 300,000sq ft of retail with 150,000sq ft of leisure facilities on the first floor - which Nigel Friskney of letting agent, Jones Lang LaSalle, says is expected to include restaurants, cafés, bars, a health and fitness club, bowling centre and an 80-bedroom family hotel. He added that market research is to be commissioned to investigate the possibility of including a cinema.
Plans for the 27acre site also include knocking down and rebuilding the existing Hull Truck Theatre and creating a new bus and rail interchange. Approximately 200 housing units will be built around a landscaped park.
The developers hope to be on site by early 2003, with the complex opening to the public late 2005. Details: JLL +44 (0)113 244 6440
