Legoland California limbers up for season
A rollercoaster based on the Technic toy line is the main attraction for this season at Legoland California. Scheduled to open on 7 April, the ride is aimed at children aged six to 12 and will create the feeling of driving a life size Lego vehicle. Added to this, the park's first full service dining facility will open, as well as a new entertainment show, based on Lego's Life on Mars. The show includes red dust storms, mixed with meteor showers followed by several atmospheric changes. An astronaut and two martians are central to the show, which aims to fuel children's imaginations and generate an interest in space and Mars. Global show producer, Sarah Gibbon, describes it as a Stomp style show for kids: we are giving families an experience that rivals anything currently available at theme parks. There are currently three Lego parks, the other two are in Windsor, UK and Billund in Denmark. A fourth opens next year in Gunzburg, Germany.
