Kingsmen Creatives wins US$25.2m KidZania Singapore contract
Design and production group Kingsmen Creatives has landed a US$25.2m (€19m, £15.1m) contract to design and build the interiors for KidZania Singapore.
Kingsmen, which worked on the recently opened KidsSTOP Science Centre also in Singapore, will handle construction and maintenance of fit-out works for the ‘edutainment’ centre set to open in 2015 at Sentosa Island’s Palawan beach.
The Mexico-based KidZania brand encourages children aged four to 14 to learn about financial literacy, various professions and teamwork, as well as acquiring some real-life skills, through interactive activities and 'jobs'.
Sentosa Development Corporation, which oversees the island's development and attractions mix, and Themed Attractions and Resorts (TAR) are behind the new KidZania park, which will be housed inside an 11,500sq m (123,785sq ft) family entertainment centre.
"We are delighted to be a part of this exciting edutainment attraction which engages children in meaningful ways,” said Benedict Soh, executive chair of Kingsmen
"With our experience in the thematic and attractions industries, we will continue to pursue more opportunities to support upcoming attractions across Asia and the Middle East."
