Kids’ fitness guidebook being launched in Liverpool
A new guidebook is being launched in Liverpool schools to help children improve their health, fitness and wellbeing.
The Liverpool Healthy Schools Guide was produced by Liverpool City Council in partnership with local publisher Liverpool First, the health service, Liverpool John Moores University and fitness scheme Sportlinx.
Paul Clein, the council’s executive member for children’s services, said: “This new book is a key part of our efforts to transform children’s health and fitness and improve their life chances.
“If we want our young people to lead healthy lives, we need the help of parents and carers. This guide will help them get on board, encourage them to think about their responsibilities and help them play their part in creating brighter, healthier futures for their children.”
70,000 copies of the book are being given to Liverpudlian schoolchildren, which contains information on healthy eating, physical activity, emotional wellbeing, sex and relationships and drugs education. Details: www.liverpool.gov.uk
