Kickstart for Derby's tourism
Derby's Tourism Unit is promoting Rams Football Weekend packages in a bid to interest visitors who wish to combine a weekend city break with sporting action.
One of the first sports-tourism breaks of its kind in the country, the package is jointly managed by Derby Tourism and Derby County Football Club and is available to visitors from the start of the current football season, to May 2003.
Details of the weekends are contained in a new-look leaflet explaining how visitors can book overnight accommodation, a First Division match ticket, a behind-the-scenes stadium tour and discounted tickets to local tourist attractions and nightclubs - from £63 per person, per night.
The Tourism Unit says there are also opportunities for visitors to sign-up for five-star hospitality in Pride Park International stadium's corporate facilities and book 5-a-side sessions. Details: www.ramsfootballweekends.co.uk
