Kia Oval signs up Michelin-starred chef
Michelin-starred chef Sriram Aylur is to offer his internationally-renowned Indian cuisine at Surrey County Cricket Club's (SCCC) Kia Oval cricket ground this summer.
The venture, which will launch at the venue's Montpelier Club, is set to coincide with the visit of the Indian national cricket team. Kia Oval will host one Test and a One Day International between India and England. Aylur's Victoria restaurant, The Quilon, retained its Michelin star for a fourth year and also offers a number of modern European dishes alongside Indian cuisine.
"The Montpelier Club is steeped in English history and has one of the best reputations for hospitality in the industry," he said. "At The Quilon we strive to serve the best Indian food in the world, so this partnership is a great tribute to the connections of the past and a celebration of the marriage of the cultures for the future."
Montpelier Club ambassador and former England cricketer Alec Stewart added: "To be able to sit there and watch players like Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni while eating some of the finest Indian food in the world will be an amazing once a lifetime experience."
