Interest shown in Battersea Power Station
London's Battersea Power Station is poised to go on the market early next year after it was revealed that a "number of major players" have already expressed an interest in the site.
The sale of the 55-acre (22-hectare) former power station site is being handled by Ernst and Young after the previous owner was placed into administration earlier this month.
A £5.5bn redevelopment scheme had been proposed for Battersea Power Station, which sits within the Vauxhall, Nine Elms, Battersea Opportunity Area regeneration zone.
Wandsworth Council leader Ravi Govindia said: "This is by far the biggest opportunity in Nine Elms. It comes with planning consent for 750,000sq m (8 million sq ft) of development."
"We are excited about the prospects for this prominent site and look forward to working with Ernst & Young as they seek a buyer with the commitment to take this forward."
