Matt Kendrick launches Pilates-inspired concept, MK Reformed, with plans to franchise
Midlands-based boutique operator, MK Health Hub, has launched a Pilates-inspired concept called MK Reformed, with plans to franchise.
The first MK Reformed has opened in Knowle, West Midlands. It offers a new workout experience combining aspects of reformer Pilates, yoga and strength training, designed to sculpt and define from the inside out.
This is the independent operator’s third venue: it has gyms in Solihull and Birmingham that offer personal and group training sessions.
Matt Kendrick, CEO and founder of MK Health Hub and MK Reformed says: “When it comes to working out, those living in big cities across the UK are spoilt for choice, but at MK Reformed we recognise that there’s an appetite for great fitness opportunities in our local neighbourhoods too - which has inspired our expansion.
“The studio in Knowle filled to capacity in the first few weeks of launch. The response we’ve had so far from the local community has been nothing short of incredible; we’ve had full classes from day one and there’s been a fantastic buzz in the studio throughout the day. We continue to welcome the local community to our beautiful new studio in the village centre.”
Two more sites are set to open in the west Midlands this year and five additional locations have been identified for 2025/6. MK is currently funding the expansion while formulating the franchise offering.
With many of the UK’s less populated areas missing out on health and fitness opportunities, it’s encouraging to see independent operators filling in the gaps.
