Ice attraction to open in London
A touring visitor attraction made entirely out of ice imported from Canada will open to the public in London next month.
The 300ft (91m) long structure, called IceSpace, will take more than a month to build and will include a 70ft (21m) high 'Stratosphere' structure, an ice art gallery, a large stage for performances and a lounge area with a bar.
A generator will create a heat-controlled environment, keeping the facility’s indoor temperature between -3 and -5 degrees Celcius.
Ice Space will be situated on a site adjacent to the Tower of London between 1 May and 30 June before touring a number of cities throughout the world.
Entry to the attraction will be limited to one hour per visitor and according to a spokesperson, IceSpace is looking to attract around 3,000 guests a day. Details: www.icespace.com
