Image: A revamp of Anfield is one option for LFC

Liverpool Football Club (LFC) managing director Ian Ayre has revealed the Premier League club is "making progress" towards a decision on the future of its stadium.

According to Ayre, the club is still exploring the option of redeveloping its current ground at Anfield or the construction of a new-build 60,000-seat venue at Stanley Park.

Ayre said: "We want to explore both options to a solution and I think it's fair to say if we continue making progress in that area, it might move faster than we originally anticipated.

"We are not going to make comments that we're doing something until we've got certainty. And that certainty quite often is in other people's hands."
