ISPA creates risk management tools for industry
The International Spa Association (ISPA) has created a new risk management programme in association with management insurance group the Resort Hotel Association.
Intended for use by the worldwide spa industry, the comprehensive programme focuses on providing spa professionals with the information to manage safer and more effective spa operations while reducing their risk and that of their clients.
The first tool in the programme is The Code of Conduct – a list of the rights and responsibilities of spa guests which is intended to ensure that each spa experience be ‘professional in communication, confidentiality, privacy and spa treatment’.
Chinese, English, French and Spanish versions of the code can be downloaded from the ISPA website at www.experienceispa.com and the association intends to translate the code into other languages in the future. The second phase of the programme is an online risk education course for spa professionals which will be available later this year.
