IHRSA launch for Life Fitness' limited edition Lifecycle
Life Fitness will be introducing a limited edition Augie's Quest Lifecycle® exercise bike on 17 March at this year's IHRSA show.
A portion of the proceeds from the new bike will be donated to Augie's Quest, the Muscular Dystrophy Association's ALS research initiative, led by Life Fitness co-founder Augie Nieto, which has raised more than US$26m (£16.5m, euro 20m) to date. Nieto received a diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease) in March 2005. Since his diagnosis, he has worked with the MDA's ALS division to coordinate cure-driven fundraising in support of the organisations' worldwide ALS research program.
"Augie shaped Life Fitness into what it is today, and he's an inspirational leader that we will forever support," said Chris Clawson, Life Fitness president. "He has touched the lives of many in the industry who will want this special edition Augie's Quest Lifecycle, not only to support his cause, but also to pay honor to his life's work."
The limited edition Augie's Quest Lifecycle displays the Augie's Quest logo with red and black machine accents to coordinate with the Augie's Quest brand image. A motivational quote from Nieto that reads "From Success to Significance" also adorns the upright bike's base.
