IAAPA cancels AAE 2003 due to SARS
The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has cancelled the Asian Amusement Expo (AAE) 2003 as a result of the SARS outbreak.
The show was scheduled to take place on July 16-18 at the Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
J. Clark Robinson, IAAPA president, said: 'Due to the many continuing unknowns surrounding the ongoing SARS outbreak, we came to the conclusion that the foreseeable health situation, in the affected areas of Asia, does not allow AAE 2003 to be planned and held under acceptable conditions.'
He added that much of the industry expertise which would have been on display at AAE will be available at IAAPA Orlando 2003 which takes place in Florida, US, in November.
IAAPA's Asian Amusement Expo 2004 is planned to take place at the Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre on July 14-16, 2004.
