IAAPA 2016: Alterface and Jora Vision join forces to create interactive dark rides
Interactive technology expert Alterface has teamed up with themed designers Jora Vision to create brand new dark ride concepts for the industry.
They revolve around interactivity, not through guests shooting and scoring points against one another, but by being given an engaging task to complete.
“Industry-wide we see more and more parks investing in attractions which let visitors be part of a clear story,” says Simeon van Tellingen, creative director at Jora Vision. “Each element within the attraction should contribute to the overall storyline. The same goes for interactive dark rides, where the interactivity should not be used as an add-on component but as a tool to truly immerse visitors into the story.
“It all comes down to perfectly blending technology, interactivity, theming and story. Only then something magical happens which turns an attraction into an unforgettable experience.”
Ben Cornet, Alterface founder and CEO, said his company’s expertise in interactivity technology is helping bring Jora Vision's creative ambition to life.
“We both believe in delivering quality and timeless attractions by creating high-level animation and creative content so the guests can enjoy a total experience the minute they enter the ride,” Cornet said.
