Henlow Grange reopens after fire
Champneys Group's Henlow Grange Health Farm reopened last month following a serious fire in November 2002.
The £4m refurbishment has included adding a new Laconium, gym, hairdressing salon and steamrooms a well as two new exercise studios, 18 new treatment rooms, a new spa area with heated floors and a new coffee shop and retail area.The manicure and pedicure studio, bedrooms, spa restaurant and dining area and existing treatment rooms have all been refurbished.
A Rasul mud treatment chamber will open in June and a £450,000 Thalassotherapy Pool is due to open in July.In an interview with Leisure Management, Champneys director, Stephen Purdew, said: 'We have taken advantage of the shutdown to absolutely transform the whole building.'
Purdew added that Champneys hopes to begin the £25m redevelopment of its Inglewood health resort in Berskshire next year and is also looking at a site in Lebanon for a new destination spa and another site in London for a new City Point health and fitness club.
