Hawaiian debut for Wyndham Grand
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts has revealed that the brand's first new build project in Hawaii will also be the first to fly the Wyndham Grand flag.
The development is a 322-unit luxury resort and residential development currently under construction on a 25-acre sit at Poipu Beach on the south shore of the island of Kauai. Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand Resort is owned by Salt Lake City, Utah, US-based Poipu Beach Villas LLC and will be managed by the Azul Hospitality Group of San Diego. The general contractor is Layton Construction, aka Resort Construction Managers.
Construction began in June 2008 and the project - being built in several phases - will eventually include a choice of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom luxury apartments. Phase One is expected to be finished this autumn and will consist of 85 resort residences, two lagoon pools, a fitness centre and a dining and shopping area. Once completed, facilities are expected to include a central pool with water slide, sand bottom area, cascading waterfalls and swim-through grotto, four lagoon-style pools, several hot tubs, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, day spa and a poolside bar and grill.
The resort will expand Wyndham Worldwide's presence in Hawaii, joining the Wyndham Vacation Resorts-Kona Hawaiian Resort and the Wyndham Vacation Resorts-Mauna Loa Village, both in Kailua-Kona on Hawaii's Big Island.
