Harry Potter to cast spell over Germany with attraction debut
Global Experience Specialists’ travelling Harry Potter attraction is making its German premiere in October.
The 1,400sq m (15,069sq ft) exhibition, which was created in partnership with Warner Bros Consumer Products, takes visitors on a magical journey through displays inspired by the Harry Potter ‘Hogwarts’ film sets, featuring authentic costumes, props and creatures.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition will open its doors at the Odysseum science and adventure museum in Cologne-Kalk on 3 October 2014. The exhibition is being presented in Cologne by AWC’s new travelling exhibition division, AWC Events.
AWC has been responsible for several touring and developing exhibitions including Titanic and most recently The Mouse, an adaptation of the WDR Broadcasting’s popular children’s show The Programme with the Mouse.
The Harry Potter exhibition is currently on tour in Europe, having already made a stop at Nya Parken in Norrköping, Sweden. It was first shown at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago in 2009.
The exhibition will be open during the Odysseum’s regular opening hours, and visitors must purchase timed-entry tickets. Combined admission for the exhibition and museum costs €29.95 ($41.55, £24.76) for adults, €23.95 ($33.23, £19.80) for children aged three to 11, and €99,95 ($138.67, £82.62) for families.
