Hard Rock Park finally open
After more than seven years in development, the world’s first rock 'n' roll-themed theme park will officially open its gates in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on 2 June.
The 140-acre Hard Rock Park boasts more than 50 rides and attractions – all themed after famous rock musicians and groups – including roller coasters, thrill rides, live shows, children's play areas, restaurants and retail stores.
The US$400m (£193m, 243m euro) park’s soft opening took place in April and was followed by a three week-long “sound check”.
The park is the brainchild of US-based HRP Myrtle Beach Operations, which will own and operates the attraction under a long-term license agreement with Hard Rock International.
HRP Myrtle Beach Operations is a partnership between the executive management team of Steven Goodwin, Felix Mussenden and Jon Binkowski; FHTP, a group of prominent local investors and community leaders; real estate developer Ziel Feldman; Amnon Bar-Tur, managing member of SafeHarbor Holding; New York and Africa Israel Investment; and Polar International Real Estate from Israel.
