Ground breaking on Palmarosa Spa project
Construction work has begun on the AED1.5bn (US$0.4bn, E0.31bn, £0.25bn) Palmarosa Spa community in Dubailand in the Middle East.
Palmarosa will consist of 217 villas and town houses, apartments and offices as well as a luxury hotel and a spa mall.
It will also boast one of the largest spa treatment facilities in the region, which will combine traditional and advanced therapies. Located off Emirates Road behind the Arabian Ranches, there will be a strong holistic element to the development, which will feature palm trees, fountains, plants and flowers selected for their healing properties.
The 3billion sq ft (0.27billion sq m) Dubailand also includes theme parks, eco-tourism projects, shopping malls, restaurants and residential units. The development is part of Tatweer, which was launched in December 2005 as the strategic and operational driver behind a group of Dubai Holding entities.
Mohammed Al Habbai, senior vice president of Dubailand, said: “Palmarosa will significantly contribute to the wellbeing of those who seek a holistic retreat while remaining in close contact with city life.” Details: tatweerdubai.com
