Green light for Trowbridge leisure scheme
Legal and General Property's (LGP) plans for a new multi-million pound leisure scheme in Trowbridge have received the green light from members of Wiltshire Council.
A seven-screen cinema operated by Odeon will be at the centre of the new St Stephens Place Leisure Park development, in addition to a budget hotel, restaurants, cafes and bars.
The plans cover a 3.5-acre (1.4-hectare) former Tesco store site and also includes a riverside walkway. The scheme is scheduled for completion in autumn 2013.
LGP senior asset manager Tim Russell said: "The decision, which was recommended for approval makes way for a much needed and long awaited cinema-anchored leisure scheme."
It is the latest leisure-led mixed use development undertaken by LGP, with work in progress on a similar scheme involving a cinema, hotel and eateries for Aldershot, Hampshire.
